Wah Wah Wah It’s something relevant to the club I support so I will comment on it whenever it comes up. And as far as I can see two other posters have also contributed to this particular discussion today so we can put your claim that “nobody gives a toss apart from you, apparently” firmly to bed and tuck it in with a nice wee cup of cocoa and a lullaby to help it along its way. So like I say…Wah Wah Wah5 points

After the away game when the attention seeking lads were out in force and pushing the look at us,fuxx the team we're the main attraction, letting of a flare, fighting stewards and amongst ourselves, punching a ball about with no interest in game wasn't surprised when I heard they booed the team and embarrassing shouts of get it up the fuxxing park makes me think sk should have stayed We have players that still have to settle not just in a new club but new country, new digs, teammates, etc, etc, new management, new tactical approach, getting up to speed, fitness and we have wankers spouting out, early doors but from what I've seen we have a manger that's conducted himself very well with media and imo knows his football, little bits I've seen fill me with optimism, more ball players, more attacking systems, wing play,we all know the big weakness is defence,he'll know that, let's get behind him, personally I think we've found a gem in Jen,time will tell.4 points

I used to watch Hugh Sproat defend at the half-way line, so keepers that stand outside their box don't worry me much.4 points

Aye, JBA did a fine job swatting down the journos in his presser. His dad has been a key influence in managing Miller's career and helping him make good choices (like staying at Fir Park and getting 75 first team appearances under his belt). I wish some of our other youngsters had similar guidance, and I'm OK with him talking to the media.4 points

What amazed me more on Saturday was the amount of enormous fuckers in our support and I'm talking American sizes. Was there a Well Society sponsored weight gain competition during close season? Some of them could have provided much needed shade to the poor buggers in the kiosk Que wie their belly over hang. Some of those sights would put you off going for life.4 points

If anyone was excited about a game at NDP I can only assume this is their first season following the sport. There has not been an entertaining game in that stadium since the day they rolled out that plastic abomination, regardless of the teams involved. As for masters of the letdown, every set of fans say that, and ours forget to say it when, for example, we stuff Rangers in a play off (or cup semi), get 2nd place with a last gasp winner at Pittodrie or beat Dundee Utd in front of a huge crowd. We win our fair share of big games, but we're not big enough to win them all. See Dundee or St Mirren for other examples.4 points

I'm not strict on this type of thing, mainly because moderation already takes up enough of my limited time, topics weave back and forth and people can reminisce and tangents form, major tangents sometimes get a new topic but ultimately, I'm not dealing with it because I've done this for far too long to care now4 points

Its seems to me that now we have brought in Elijah we should have kept Moses on as well, and increased our potential prophets this season.4 points

That’s just your reasoned opinion versus mine, which is completely fair. Based on your response, my post seems pretty balanced: you agreed with four points and disagreed with five. The idea that views like mine somehow equate to pant-wetting insanity is, frankly, madness in itself. The long and short of it is—and this isn’t aimed at you—is that too many are more interested in posting reductive pish to take shots at anyone voicing an opinion, rather than offering anything constructively critical themselves.4 points

I just wish once,,,,, just once, that we’d sign a pacey winger, a Chris Humphrey, a Marvin Johnson, I’d even celebrate a Lionel ainsworth. I know to some folk just now it’s old fashioned football and they are not “in style” but for the purpose of entertainment and getting to the bye line and whipping a cross in….. give me wingers all day long.4 points

Both are past 30. Both pretty experienced. Both previously right backs who probably don't have the legs for the modern attacking full back role. Both probably more suited to playing in a back three. Do we really need what is effectively two players filling the same role? Had I a choice of the two, I'd probably have renewed McGinn. But given O'Donnell renewed automatically, I'd have chosen to sacrifice McGinn in order to free up a salary for a younger defender with a bit more legs/energy/power.. But, hey, as it is they are both under contract now. I don't know how much value for money we'll get out of that fact, but not much we can do about it now..4 points

I’m on the fence regarding the goalie style of play obvious drawback we are all aware of but it does allow us to get more players ahead of the ball. I thought the first half we maintained possession well and there were was hardly a hoof ball played the whole first half. There were some longer passes but they were decent balls where our player was always the favorite to win the ball. Midfielders were showing for the ball making it easier for us to make passes and keep possession. However, second half was very different story. For our level of players I think it’s very hard for them to maintain that for a full 90 mins. Having that focus and mentality goes downhill fast as you start to tire. So between fitness and heat yesterday we just couldn’t maintain the first half control. Sure, we made subs but that didn’t seem to work in maintaining then level of focus and fitness required. While disappointed yesterday I’m confident we will improve and that the manager will be a bit more analytical in his assessment and able to prioritize what needs fixing first. With some new players likely to come in there still cause for optimism. Yours faithfully, Happy Clapper 😂😂3 points

You must have been at opposite side of stand from me where we had the pleasure of an older guy calling him a useless c**t, embarrassing. I don't do away games because I can't be bothered with the antics of some elements and sadly yesterday just proved why I won't be going to another away game. Maybe I am just getting old but it took away a lot of the enjoyment from yesterday. No doubt though the media team will perceive it differently. Again that's just my opinion COYW3 points

This coming Saturday 3pm ko at Rockburn Park...Motherwell have stated that it will be an under20s team that will be playing. Before the match, there will be a 7s tournament being held by the East Stand Motherwell group in support of Men's Mental Health charities...this begins at 10am and ends around 1.30pm.3 points

The luddites are out in force tonight, get the WS to employ a town crier to wander the streets announcing results, or a weekly papyrus scroll nailed to the office door to help the technologically challenged keep up to date.3 points

full adult membership got you one share in the society, each and every member would only ever have one share, it was the very essence of the sales pitch to own a share. (To then own the club) Any ongoing fees were for the maintenance of benefits,, (rarely delivered and often changed as club realised they carried the cost of benefits which was then changed) even the initial switch to monthly standing order deposits was to allow payment towards a full adult membership . As the Society board were given targets by the then club board to grow membership to viable numbers.. many opted away from the benefits (which have been vaguely delivered since and to date) to use monthlies to join up family members etc to grow membership numbers. If I had the energy I’d contest the recent board’s interpretation that the switch to monthlies years back didn’t entitle adult members life ownership of their single society share when meeting the adult membership fee, but tbh they’ve pitched their work and got their votes. Good luck to them It’ll be interesting to see the actual impact of the policy , on published membership numbers going forward when they roll out the cancellations3 points

It's not black. It's not fluorescent. It's not jester-ish. That puts it ahead of the game for me. I'd be quite happy if our change kit every season was white with claret and amber trim, but those days have long gone. On the plus side, if we launch a kit you don't like, it will be gone in a season.3 points

Ask Dundee if Tony was a safe pair of hands. The statement ...... knows the Scottish game and safe pair of hands is why Scottish Football is shite, boring and dying on its arse. Thought you had more imagination than that.3 points

Losing to Sligo over 2 legs is worthy of criticism A new manager losing his 1st friendly in a bounce game to a very competent Dutch side? Cmon man3 points

I asked ChatGPT to "create a post in the style of MJC on steelmenonline.co.uk" Thread Title: "If That’s Our Ambition, Then God Help Us" Posted by MJC Right, I’ve tried to stay off here for a bit but after watching that yesterday I genuinely wonder what’s going on at this club. We’ve just had a pre-season where we’ve allegedly strengthened, yet here we are playing hoofball against a team that finished 9th last season and looked like they couldn’t be bothered to get out of second gear. Is this the grand new era we were promised? More like the same old p*sh, just with a fresh coat of Dulux. The manager says “the boys gave everything” – aye, well if that’s everything, we’re in for a long season. No shape, no urgency, no clue. And as for some of the new signings – honestly, I’ve seen more presence in a ghost town. We let players go, tell the fans we’re building something, then turn out a performance like that and expect folk to pay £25 a ticket and clap like seals? Sorry, not for me. Call me negative (as usual) but unless there’s a serious wake-up call, we’ll be sleepwalking into another relegation scrap by Halloween. Anyway, I’ll leave it there before I say something I’ll regret.3 points

Being transferred is a bit different. I was talking more about the players that choose to move on rather than re-sign, like Hastie, McKinstry, McAlear etc.3 points

Its all ancient history ffs nobody gives a toss apart from you apparently, so can we start discussing the present challenges facing the club, and not what some long forgotten manager allegedly said or did 18 years ago3 points

Folk say this all the time when talking about McGhee. What would he (or whoever might have been incharge at the time) have had to have done (or said) for people to say anything otherwise?3 points

He remains a legitimate point of discussion for that very reason and he manages in the same division so we will come across him. He’s had plenty of opportunity, and will likely have again, to recant on his reasons for leaving. For the sake of his new wife I hope he doesn’t behave in his personal life as he did in his professional, as an apparent total lack of insight into personal limitations and willingness to acknowledge mistakes never bodes well for a strong relationship. On the other hand, as a Well fan, I hope he carries on his managerial career as he left us as that will guarantee a Killie side fighting relegation.3 points

I won't be the manager ever. So no need to dig me out eh. I'm entitled to my opinion the same as everyone else. I pay my money to see Motherwell the same as everyone else.3 points
