  1. That's not what happened though it is? And I think you know this and not for the first time. I let all of them slide despite your best efforts to get a rise because it is pure energy vampire stuff. The constant twisting of what actually happened, needing to be at the centre of everything often devoid of any salient points, citing you don't have issues with anyone while having a long rap sheet of those perceived to have wronged you, hijacking of threads or taking them off on a merry tangent and not being robust enough to take a joke or be corrected without crying foul. All combined, they landed you in SteelmenOnline jail until recently. I'm glad you cite P&B, you rocked up in the St Mirren matchday thread a few weeks back and ... surprise surprise ... binfire. To the extent the St Mirren fans with no preconceptions or knowledge told you to take a break with the standard eyeroll. You demand anonymity yet lay out your life story in along with your name in unsolicited DM's. You cite being stalked, yet your online and real world actions fits most traits of that behaviour. You claim to be chill and water off a ducks back yet you prickle at everything. However, the most vexatious action is the twisting of the truth to fuel your grudges. Time for a long hard look in the mirror. You must also not have been paying much attention last summer, but I keep receipts. The DM's you cite were forwarded to Yabba and another moderator in their entirety because I knew I'd need to keep my powder dry because you simply can't help yourself. So get your wee rant typed up littered with the well worn victim stuff and sympathy fishing. Don't DM me, don't slander me on Facebook and don't continue to bring a sword to a gunfight. To everyone else, apologies for this, this is a football forum after all for conjecture, debate and most importantly humour. Just straw/camels back ...

I might miss this game as it’s ANZAC day Friday long day starting at dawn for Dawn Service so up at 0400 muster with me mates after service have a gunfire breakfast an hour later getting ready for the parade then back to the club for two-up and the usual routine I have been known to be MIA for a couple of days…. Anyway COYW Lest we forget

  3. It could be argued that its most important function has been to protect the club from the actions and desires of its executive board members last year.

  6. What concerns me isn't about any individual who's recruiting , more the general direction we've gotten into. Over the last decade we've transitioned from bringing in 7-8 new players and regularly brining in 16-20. There's a lot less of the younger crew coming through on a regular basis and we're going from full overhaul one season to a next. We've always had budget constraints , for me we're being really wasteful and the approach needs to change.

  7. There's been a couple of times in the last 5 or 6 years when were were in deep shit. The post police charge collapse under Robinson and the whole Hammell era which only came into being because another manager was forced out the club. Motherwell fans need to get a grip. In the natural order we are a Bottom 6 club every season and the only time we aren't are when we over achieve and others underachieve. 'That prat' had this team Top 6 all season, achieved a semi final, saved us from relegation once and had us comfortable last season. Sure it's a little bit nervy going into the last stage of the season but the only non city team that's better than us this term is St Mirren and then only by a small margin. Our fans need to get some perspective and stop the doom/crisis/it's never been worse/gut the club cycle.

  8. You're right. It's not just about the players on loan. It's about the injuries as well and personally. I can't be bothered with the constant misery around Motherwell fc. Yes we are rubbish. Yes we might go down but does that need to be highlighted on every other post on here. I'm personally sick of it. I get it. Some fans think we are crap. They aren't good enough. But hopefully we will get tenth at least to stay up The negativity on here in some quarters is staggering. You get some people predicting we are going to lose every week no matter who we play I also think it's astonishing that some people think that managers can offload players who are still under contract. Edited to say I've seen that elsewhere not just on this forum. On Facebook folk were calling for everyone apart from Ox to go (eyeroll). I saw a post on here yesterday saying Balcombe has to go - stop press - he's on loan Rant over.

  9. Not because of yesterday but I’d sign Watt (reasonable wages of course) he’s not injury prone, experienced, can actually control a ball and pass, decent level, just needs kept in line for fitness and attitude. As good as or better than a lot of the signings we’ve made the past couple of years.

  11. Some amount of pant wetting going on around here of late. Looking forward to when we scud this lot, and end up cruising to a fairly standard 7th or 8th place finish. You'd think we were the side five points adrift at the bottom going by the patter on this forum.

  12. I'm jealous of the people who rank this squad as "the worst they have ever seen". They've had it easy!

  13. I have no idea why people are talking as if we're the worst team in the league. Where will the four points come from? Who would be all that surprised if we beat St Johnstone at home, drew with Killie at home (securing the four points needed) and then went on to draw away with a poor Hearts team who really have nothing left to play for, and grab another point or three against either County or Dundee away? We can get four points from that lot without much bother. I fully expect us to finish 8th or 9th.

  14. Team that finished yesterday had 5 loanees, add other loanees that didn't feature and also out of contract players and it will be a totally different squad next season. Also McGinn, Gordon, Seddon and Stama missing doesn't help. As I said to my mates yesterday, it's like keeping a car ticking along till it's MOT is due. Just want to survive this season then we rebuild but Wimmer needs to be given a chance and his first transfer window hopefully gives us an idea of how we will look

  15. Why on earth we even discussing this? Jeez guy only been in door 2 months and inherited a huge mess left by that previous person. 7 games left and come 5.00 Saturday might even be in top 6. See if we are 11th with say 2 games left then I will worry. Positive vibes folks

  16. It's amazing how the mood of a game can create that kind of chaos. And if Forbes hadn't missed the pen, we would never have had the pleasure of that finish.

  19. I don't understand how he can be perceived as the best option. He conceded a ridiculous amount of goals for St Mirren , we've had the same issue. I get why he was drafted in when Ox got injured and the loanee got injured but why Ox isn't been given the gloves back is beyond me.

  21. If we want to progress and finish higher than the teams above us in the league, I think we need to stop signing players they have let go. They are letting them go for a reason. Tony Watt should be a great example of that. Similarly with Halliday albeit he has done a job this season. There will always be exceptions to the rule, but generally speaking we should be looking at getting younger more dynamic players with a bit of pace (ability) with the prospect of developing them. We have enough old experienced legs in our squad as it is. Dont think we need any more.
    3 points
  22. I just don’t understand the Halliday love? Each to their own and all that but I think in general apart from maybe a couple of games he’s been poor. his first thought when he gets a ball is to win a foul, he spends 60mins of each game on his ar5e. He rarely creates anything, rarely pushes forward and struggles to track back. as mentioned each to their own but he’s not for me and I’d be letting him go.

  23. For me the McLean era highlights what we can do over a sustained period of time. Not easy but this is something we should be looking to replicate and accept we're a long term project. McLean built a team long term like you mention the likes of Maxwell, Arnott, Dolan, Griffin, Kirk and many others improved over the years, particularly when we brought in some quality (Russell, Cooper etc) I'd be delighted for the club to have a long term progressive plan, that see's us gradually improve each year. Short term we need more cohesion and a few players with a bit more fight about them. Feels a long time since we had the likes of Lasley, Hammell, Craggs of the world who were good enough for us and cared about the club. My simple view is we need less journeyman and more Wilsons of this world fighting for us and progressing each year, don't need to all be world beaters. PS if someone could give us a Cooper or a Russell well that's fine too :).

  24. Because we’re persisting with a system that requires proper wingbacks to function effectively, which we do not have. The alternative is, therefore, a flat back 4 with 2 defensive midfielders sitting in front to protect them, and 3 midfielders in front of them to provide some attacking penetration and width to feed the 1 up top. A simple 4-2-3-1 as proposed by @joewarkfanclub above.

  26. I agree. We will not be getting relegated this season. The psychology is interesting. There is a rather natural assumption that we are the poorest of the 6 simply because of our natural angst of a worst case scenario. Hearts are probably the best of the six and they were rotten yesterday. They could not raise themselves to a performance despite all that was at stake. After Hearts, we are in the best place. The table does not lie. Draws work nicely for us. The teams below need wins. Again our natural irrational brains would tell us that St Johnstone will never make up 5 points on Dundee yet we have the fear about Dundee making up 5 points on us. We are rotten. Of that there is no doubt. The teams around us are as bad if not worse. If they were not, they would be further up the league table. I can't help but think of the Butland goal/ no goal against Rangers. Had that been given as it should we would be as good as home and dry right now. Yes there will be a few anguish moments but we will be safe this year.

  27. I don't think it was that bad. It was an improvement on the past few games, plenty fight and spirit in the team. Defensively looked much better too, with Balcombe, O'Donnell and Casey all having good games.

  30. Might just be me but these kind of posts from the clubs social media team just annoy me. Especially when we are on a poor run. Look good all you want in training, its what happens game day that counts and of late, it's been pish.

  31. FFS wind your neck in! I started the topic by posing what I considered to be a very relevant and legitimate question, i.e. in the event we were to be relegated would the manager stay. I did not question his integrity or his ability. However a few of the usual twats on here jump in and put their own spin on things.

  34. I agree. I don't see why he would be leaving if we stay up or go down. He surely knew how badly Motherwell were struggling before he took the job. He clearly wanted the challenge

  35. With all due respect that's pish, SK had KVV and Spittal contributing 30 goals between them, MW has Armstrong, Watt or Ebiye so hardly surprising we struggle to score goals and therefore win games As for MW having Multiple chances to secure top 6, that would be 2 maybe 3 games out of the 6 or 7 he's been in charge, aye OK then. Some of the posters on here need a reality check at times, does anyone really think we would be any better off after 32 games if SK had stayed, not a chance we would be at least 6 points worse off.

  36. With all due respect I think this is a load of rubbish. Hammell's team was worse and in a much worse position, relegation very much on the cards, and Kettlewell came in and not only turned it round but went on a great run. Wimmer has had multiple chances to secure a Top 6 position and not done it. Of course he needs time to mould his own team and no one is saying he won't do a job in the long run but that doesn't mean that he's doing as well as he should be. I alluded to it before but I'll just say it out loud now, the two key players in that squad are Lennon Miller and Tawanda Maswanhise, and so far he's show he doesn't recognise that or how to utilise either player effectively. To me that's a bit concerning. Managers that try to impose their own style over the strengths of a squad usually either have to concede and change or fail.
    3 points
  37. Wimmer can only pish with the cock he’s got, which I am sure we can all agree is useless, so the talk of him being inadequate and/or emptied this early in his tenure is absurd.
    3 points
  38. Nope, Wimmer will have to take a share of the blame as well. Is it a poor squad he inherited? Yep. But there are a fair few poor squads in this league (we were beaten by one yesterday) so getting a couple of results shouldn't be beyond any coach that belongs at this level. His persevering with a shape that's not working, with a keeper that can't catch a cold and with playing our best player out of position is fuck all to do with Kettlewell...

  39. I would bet my house on familiar surroundings with a fan base that appreciates him and we would get an entirely different player from what's been on show at his more recent clubs. He is exactly what we need can tackle and get up and down box to box 90 plus mins per game easy.

  40. I never thought that the Well Society's most important function would become protecting the club from a large section of its own fans, but there you go.

  41. Yeah I think we are now safe. i was concerned today as I just didnt see us having the necessary fight to beat st Johnstone. I failed to take into account how sh1te st Johnstone are. i think we have enough in us to pick up 1 more point in the remaining games and I think County’s result today was a shocker for them, so I see them staying in the play off position. I’d love to see Killie in that position but due to them having another home game at that abomination of a park I think they’ll claw the points required there.

  42. Stama wasn't played properly by Kettlewell at first, was playing the lone striker role. When we went 2 up top with Stama and Maswanhise they were looking a good partnership. I am not writing Stama off yet , a full pre season and hopefully wimmer can get best out him.

  45. Even when we beat Rangers and Dundee, Casey gave away both the goals we conceded. As I've said before, I understand why people like Casey for his energy and disruptive nature in the oppositions' box. As a defender, though, he's constantly out of position, and struggles to pass the ball to his own team members. A liability, especially when he's paired up with Blaney - something like 3 clean sheets playing together in the league. There comes a point when the mentality of a defence is just broken and they are incapable of performing at the required level. For me, it was obvious we had passed that point last season. Some of our central defenders may go on and perform better elsewhere, but I honestly can't think of any combination of the current crop that I'd look at before a game and think "clean sheet".

  46. I understand why people are unhappy. I went to my first away game in decades and had to watch that Aberdeen shit show. But I'm old enough to remember standing on the terraces at Fir Park in the winter with us getting battered off Morton. I don't think we are a shite team. I think we've just had lots of injuries this year and other things that have conspired against us. And if we do go down - fuck it. I'll support Motherwell till the end I honestly do hope Wimmer turns it around but if he doesn't it is what it is. I also don't think our players don't care about the club.

  47. Perhaps it’s the players who are the problem…
    2 points
  48. Exactly, the sending off is way down the list of reasons why we lost that game yesterday, you could tell after 10 minutes exactly what kind of performance we were going to put in,even with 10 men there needs to be some kind of plan to get back into the game but yet even with a man less all we did was kick it away.we struggle everytime the opposition is a man down but yet don't have a clue when the shoe is on the other foot.im at the point now where I hate this current team and want the season done,it doesn't matter what 11 is on the park its same old same old, none of them take any responsibility, take the second goal yesterday as example as if the first wasn't bad enough,we let the cross ball come all the way to the back post and not one of our players even made an attempt to jump and challenge for it,then they all look about gormless at each other, the sooner the majority of them have all fucked off and doing that elsewhere the better.

  49. At no point am I blaming Wimmer on this as he’s been left in charge of the jolly boys outing, but why on earth is Taswanhise not involved here? He’s been the one creative spark this season. He must be appalling at training.
