It's not their job to come up with names, what difference would that make?

Imrie can't hate us that much, he's applied for the job twice before.

My youngest knows Imrie's nephew well and Imrie doesn't hate Motherwell; he played the part of pantomime villain effectively.

Its very hard to say. We don't have a low down on out of work English managers or foreign possibilities. Also which Scottish managers with other clubs are not under contract or if they are would be "amenable to being approached"?

John McGlynn has a patchy record in management and fans of Hearts, Livingston and certainly Raith Rovers might have something to say. Of the early names to be mentioned I'd say Scott Brown could be a possibility.

Brown is a legend in his own head, no thanks

Let Brown learn his trade elsewhere. He has not shown anything in management to date to merit a chance at the top division.

But but he played for Celtic don't you know,  absolute scumbag. Would be quite nice if he bumped into Cedric Kipre in a dark alleyway. He would do an impression of Dougie imrie.

As I said earlier current or ex managers with any random connection to the ugly sisters are immediately the front runners or hot favourites, less than 24 hrs after the job became available ffs.

Can you imagine the shit storm on here if Lennon was even considered 😱

This is exactly the way that I feel.

Let's remember the facts here.
1. Put out the cup by the bottom of the league with a whimper. Fans boo. He effectively states they know nothing, effectively inciting them.

2. Lose to the bottom of the league with a whimper. Already irritated fans give him abuse after being incited. Walks his ticket out of the door covering up the cracks.

3. Our whiter than white board,  wet behind the ears board,  help him with his narrative and against the FAN OWNED club.

What I will say is well played Stuart Kettlewell, came out looking like the victim.
He's not the messiah he's a very naughty boy.

and last year put out LC by St Mirren in 1st knock out round and SC by Morton in the 4th round playing the same guff we've played for nearly two season but doesnt suit the "last 4 games" nonsense by the media.

The usual lazy journalism in this country. The media be it radio, television or newspapers are a joke and have been for years.

I can't remember the media correctly predicting our new manager since around the Tommy McLean appointment.

They couldn't predict their next breath.

There’s no such thing as football journalism now, they scour the fans forums / social media and get names from here and then pass it off as their own work “from a source”

I don't care what club a player played for, I just want best person for the job.  I wouldn't have a problem with Brown or Lennon, both would set high standards and not tolerate slackers.

Anyway let's wait and see.  Beat sellik on Sunday and Frail gets the gig till end of season

Regarding the hiring of a new manager how much of say does the well society have?

Not a lot, that’s the job of the Motherwell board which obviously has 2 WS members on it.
I’m a member of the society but firmly believe that the two boards have two jobs and apart from working together on certain things they shouldn’t interfere with the others role.

edit: I’ve no doubt there are some who think that the WS should have a vote to rubber stamp any appointment :)

I am not very familiar with how the club is run so how many board members are there?

The clubs website shows 6 directors the chairman, the chief executive, finance director - both club employees - and 3 others, 2 of whom I presume are WS appointed.

So the fans (WS) do have two votes to cast for or against any appointment, if it even works like that. Perhaps they discuss candidates and come to a consensus on best applicant? I assume the 2 WS board members should be representing the wishes of the members or were they selected and trusted to act on behalf of the WS in cases like this, without the need to poll the members?
No hidden agenda or anything, I was just wondering how it works and if it has worked like this in the past? I think on some previous occasions the board has been called out for taking the easy/cheap way out or of “jobs for the boys” but at least there is a voice there from the fans although not a majority.

Don't be daft they were elected to make the best decisions as they see fit with a bit of input from society board probably

FFS we will be asking society members to vote on tetley or pg tips for the boardroom tea next.
