Yup, no way can we write off £250k. I still think he will come good

As good as or better than a lot of the signings we’ve made the past couple of years. Agree

As good as or better than a lot of the signings we’ve made the past couple of years. I agree. In the right set up he could be an asset. I don't think he would demand a fortune in wages. Once he got riled up by Holt yesterday he really showed what he can contribute. Perhaps along with the rest make a point of handing him a nice wee fitness programme and diet sheet over the summer though. That said, no matter which attackers we end up with I hope we don't isolate a single striker and hope for miracles. On that basis I'm looking forward so seeing what a fit and supported Ap Stam can do with a decent run in the team.
wellsince75
re Watt - much would depend on our style of play. As part of a front 3 or sitting just behind the strikers he's an asset. The issue for me is 1) He's had all season to prove himself and show what he has. There's only been glimpses. 2) The formations we've often played haven't suited him. This could continue to be an issue. To retain him for me we'd have to get rid of of several other contracted forward players and play more than 1 up front. That being said he's the other loanee forward I'd consider retaining.
Spit_It_Out
Sorry but one good game dosent deserve a contract cause soon as it was signed on the dotted line Watt would be back to below par run outs lets not kid ourselves on here. Its time to move on. 5
Big Stall
When he plays well he's a real asset. The problem is we only see it once in a blue moon. For me, that was probably his best game since he returned from utd.

However, there's been no lack of effort from him all season and his patchy form is probably more due to him not getting many minutes, formations leaving him isolated and teammates not being on the same wavelength. I'd be open to the idea of him staying with us if he fits into our budget.
grizzlyg
Ye I agree that Watt was great on Saturday but how many times have we seen that since he signed on loan? We could give him a contract and effort could then drop again. If he plays like that next 4 games then my opinion might change
mfc
Watt hasn't done enough to warrant a permanent deal.

Watt seems to fit Wimmer's style pretty well. Whether he can be arsed to play like that every week, however, is the question.
mio
I think most people will agree he’s a good player, I think he seems a decent enough guy as well albeit an absolute moon man. as mentioned tho it all depends on how we play him. If you Stick him up front himself you’d be as well with me up there.

David
On Lennon, I do not believe his value will be influenced either way by his recent displays for us or by any awards he might receive. The sort of clubs that can afford the fee we will be asking for tend to look deeper than the surface. How he performs for a struggling Motherwell side, or whether he picks up an award in Scotland, will not concern them in the slightest. Their interest will be driven by data and detailed analysis. They will be far more focused on whether he has the potential to progress with better facilities, different coaching, and stronger players around him. Those elements are likely to have a far greater impact on his valuation than anything else.
