AP is either half injured or on the way out. The game was there to win and we didnt bring on our only experienced stiker.

While we had a couple of forced changes, I dont believe that we wouldn't have brought on a stiker for Just at the end instead of McGhee if they were genuinely available.

Sounds like we are getting this striker which will be interesting and as mentioned if we get Welsh for the rest of the season that’d be a brilliant result.

I actually feel like we need another midfielder as well after losing RCC and with Watt being out and the likelihood is there will be other injuries in midfield particularly giving the miles they put in every game, it’s inevitable.

This suggests we're not going to go crazy in January, as expected.

"The strength of the squad was evident and the Motherwell manager reiterated that his focus in the January transfer window is to keep his key players.
“That's the main plan, to make sure that this team gets the maximum out of this group of players, gets the maximum out of this season, and then we know in the summer it's a bigger window,” the Dane said.
“So that's the main track for us and then obviously there's a few gaps here and there and we'll see if we can fill them with quality like we did in the summer.”

News of his return to Celtic has their fans rubbing their hands in glee, not!

Apparently he is not good enough for them and would be more useful staying with us to try and take points of Rangers and Hearts.

From a personal point of view it cant be a good move for Welsh as he is unlikely to get regular playing time with them.

This is the problem with loan deals. Ok for very short term but can cause problems down the line. Celtic seem desperate, disorganised and clueless just now with transfer dealings. So if they come calling for our own players, double our asking price.

This is the pros and cons of loans system for clubs though isn’t it?

we recalled Matty because of needing cover due to injury and Celtic are in similar position because the Man City player they had got recalled.

yes arguably Celtic are in better position because Welsh has been getting game time and playing well so they have more than just a substitute/cover

Personally I’m glad he performed for us rather than simply made up numbers as some loanees have done having said that we’ve also shown we can win without him so I thank him and move on.

While it’s disappointing and he was clearly an integral part of the success so far, perhaps our best game to is season was against Celtic and Welsh didn’t play. Hopefully, we get another body in but we’ve shown we can live without him.

We could always ask to buy him......

I heard we did and could afford him. But he is on £10k plus PW at Celtic for the next 18 months. I would not be surprised to see him playing for them at least until season end. Their current defence is shocking. Just look at how we ran Scales ragged. I suspected he would be recalled as soon as I heard Nancy had been sacked.
