I’d love to see us keep this squad together and add a few players to strengthen it but that’s very unlikely as I’m sure several of our players will be getting some good offers but you never know. Maybe the chance to play another season under Jens amd in Europe might be enough to keep them here one more season. If Jens stays then a good chance we might be able to retain most of squad but I would look to get as much as we can for Maswanhise

bobbybingo
Jens talking about how important the praise has been, because if it's the other way 'round, a manager doesn't get the chance to stay and create something over time. Also saying they'll use it as 'fuel' to move forward and achieve more. You never know what's around the corner, but he certainly isn't talking like a guy who's itching to get away. grizzlyg
I wonder if Robinson will get a chance next season? I didnt rate him but bear in mind he was playing in a Kettlewell hoofball team. With a good manager maybe there is a player there. We shall see

We shall see I always thought Robinson wasted too much time wrestling with 6ft plus defenders he was never going to get the better of. It seemed utterly pointless as he did appear to have a good first touch and a bit of pace to get in behind. Of course, that could have been down to instruction from Kettlewell. So, I would also be interested to see if he had anything to offer in a Jens team before we just send him on his way.

Do we have to play Jackson’s Browne’s “Stay” after our two home games ? 😀

robsterwood
Is it reliable source? Hope we got Jen's on long contract. I'm not sure terms he signed. Hopefully it was 2 or 3'year contract.
Stuwell2
Loads of their fans at work have been saying he’s going there for the last few weeks. Hard to see half that Celtic team being willing to play Jens style of football and with DD in charge of the club I find it hard to believe he’d get the same freedom to run things as he gets here. In short I don’t think it’s a good move for him.

How long until the Dunfermline manager is linked to the Celik job. Probly week before cup final . It happens every important game with bigot brothers opposition players and managers.
johnstone
Let’s not kid ourselves on here. There is a very high chance Jens will be away in the summer. I would imagine a lot of clubs across Europe will be keeping tabs on him. It’s the way it is. Anyone who does well at our club has a high chance of not being there for long. grizzlyg
If Jens goes then hopefully not to sellik. Rumours probably ususl unsettling. Since split fixtures announced sellik have..... 1) welcomed green brigade back 2) tried to ban rangers fans 3) linked with marc Leonard 4) linked with Jens Just usual unsettling tactics

I think most of us have made peace with that fact. But I dont think I could handle him going to another club in Scotland. Particularly if its one of the ugly sisters. That would be hard to take. Im hopeful that he might stay another season and see out his contract. But if he doesnt, Id prefer he went down south or back to Europe. robsterwood
That's how we got to show ambition and back him. Try to take us to next level rather than constant rebuild every season. We will never get to next level unless we back him. We may need more investment but finances improving.

That’s unrealistic though. I am pretty sure Celtic could offer him over £1 million per year. Easy. I would imagine we would be about £300k - we can’t compete with that. He's got good players here and if we up our money he could do even better next season and get an even bigger club than Celtic. Look how Hearts have taken on old firm and could even win league. I know they are bigger club financially but teams like bodo glm have taken it to next level and are similar size. Other teams have done it with investment. We just got to do our best in marketing and show as much ambition as we can.
wellfan
The bigger picture for us in footballing terms is that JBA, and Wimmer to a lesser extent, has reset the club. That process was set in motion by the current board. The only real concern for next season and beyond isn’t JBA leaving, which is inevitable at some point, but whether the board changes direction. I don’t think they will. They’ve been clear about the path they want the club on, and it feels like a structural shift rather than a short-term project. The key test will be whether they appoint the next right man when the time comes, and whether the footballing direction remains consistent. If it does, revenue should continue to rise and, with that, the calibre of player and results will follow.

We just got to do our best in marketing and show as much ambition as we can. I think that’s the problem. The majority of the Well Society don’t want outside investment. However, we have a crumbling stadium and need £20m+ investment for a new stadium. Or £10m if we stay put. Do we’ll sell our players this year to help finance it or try to invest in the squad? We should be looking for proper outside investment probably from across the pond. Or should be doing a Hearts and partnering with a data guy or another club? Thankfully not my call🤞
weeyin
Even with investment we're not going to compete on wages with any big team that wants to step in and take a player or manager. That's OK, though. Our model is to offer players different opportunities. For some like Just, it's to get some quality playing time ahead of the World Cup. For other slike Watt, it's to get their career back on track after struggling for a season or two. And if you are a talented youngster like Miller, we can help get you a move to a top Italian league. I have no idea if Jens will be off or not, but either way I expect us to sell 2 or 3 of our high value players in the summer and continue down the same path for recruitment of fresh faces. And if we need a new manager, I expect the next one to be in the same mould as JBA.
Jonesy
Making money from buying and selling players is worth much more to us than an investment, unless someone is willing to write off tens of millions every year. Hibs have spent £13 million of someone else's money over the last 3 years (on top of having a much bigger budget than us to start with) all to be sitting 6 points behind us currently. robsterwood
I think keeping majority share fan owned probably best for clubs security. If we did get Saudi type investment or US then that's a different ball game. I'm fed up of managers and players leaving. Entitled Celtic fans at work saying they taking Just, Maswanise and our manager. I'm fed up buying new strips with player name on for son too as most leave when they become success. I know that's model we operate Just hoping we can keep the best players slightly longer and show a little more ambition than we have over the years. I do get that with wimmer and Jen's club going in high pressure passing direction but next manager cannot be guaranteed to be half as good coach or motivator than Ken's. Look how he has improved sod and mcgin.
