I really struggled - hard to watch . Japan are a well drilled team who have evolved significantly over recent decades . happy that we’ve become spoiled with our approach watching our beloved Well but it equally highlights where nationally we’re not progressing. Don’t get me wrong I’m delighted for Scotland to be at the World Cup and the final qualifying game was incredible but suspect we’ll spend most of the games chasing shadows . Hopefully our club approach can influence the broader game in Scotland , including national team . meanwhile really looking forward to getting back to league action - hope we have a bit of zip on our game and take all 3 pts .
texanwellfan Posted yesterday at 03:15 PM Report Share Posted yesterday at 03:15 PM Hope Eli has is case packed and heading to the airport. We will need him for the run in, especially next two games with Slats out. perhaps the Slats fiasco will be a rallying call for the players amd JBA will have them well Drilled and fired up for this game. He’s had two weeks to work with JT on getting back to scoring form. If we can get back even close to our best then we should be able to secure all 3 points.

He won our player of the month for March and sent a wee video message from the airport, by the look of it.
stv Posted yesterday at 03:28 PM Report Share Posted yesterday at 03:28 PM They will play blocking style try to stop us passing forward, as other teams have recently, with some success and hope to take thier chances when they come. Fingers crossed the rest will have done us good. Hopefully we will be prepared to mix things up a bit and no keep tring to walk it into the net . A win will go a long way to securing 4th and still keep dreaming of 3rd.

We need to get right behind the team for this game. That and loudly call out any instances of "gamesmanship" from Falkirk; anything that breaches rule 77 in fact (no abuse please). Lets channel that resentment into someothing positive. Don't expect them to come to Fir Park to entertain us, if his time at Stark's Park is anything to go by. Certainly a decent manager but one who knows how to employ the dark arts. Sorry, but Slats got what he deserved. Utterly embarrasing.

No it was'nt, if he had went down easily or for you " dived" won us a penalty that won the cup etc, would we all be complaining, i think not, so lighten up on Slattery. The real embarrassment is the standard of refereeing in Scotland which is 100% responsible for this whole shit show.

The poor refereeing made it worse and the retrospective action compounded the incompetence by handing out a 4 match ban for something that would have been a yellow card in-game. So an embarrassment all round, with each decision worse than the next. I can't speak for anyone else, but I hate cheating more than I hate bad decisions. And that applies to our players too.

I said it when c*ntwell did same thing to slatts, an opposition player is going to miss some games, win bonuses , his place in team ...all while offending players team is winning. I think Slatts is a cracking player and he's come through a hard time but he messed up here , no getting away from it.

The refereeing is really poor for sure but guys hoing down easily isn't going to help.

That's true if those others were caught in match. But other than the two match suspended nonsense, Slattery received the same punishment as others who were later found to have conned officials into awarding penalties/ red cards. Exactly what we were demanding when Kipre was sent off after Brown conned the referee. Plenty of other examples of similar punishments in the past. Despite comments to the contrary this was not a ground breaking or historic decision. Rangers appealed when it happened to them insisting contact had been made (Aluko dived to win a penalty in a 2-1 win over Dunfermline - 2 match ban) and were unsuccessful. But far easier to ignore precedents and play the victim card. Slattery got caught, got punished in line with others. It's done. Would we have complained had Scott Brown been cited and banned for two games with the Kipre red card rescinded? As others have said, the real issues here are inconsistency and the ineptitude of VAR and the match officials. Had they done their job correctly then it would have been dealt with immediately at less cost to Motherwell and Slattery. In an ideal world, with the introduction of VAR, situations like this should not occur. But in reality they will as long as players continue to exaggerate contact. Nah, he was daft enough to do it on live tv when winning by 3 goals so deserved what he got I'm afraid...we will miss him too.
