wellsince75
Early signs are positive and got to ignore this evening. JBA will be a tough act to follow and personal view is we've not been as impressive as we were last season in terms of ball retention and some of the back to front movement. Need to see how we do in the league and now Europe is finished we can get back into a normal routine of games.
Orinoco
Given the injuries, players changes and lack of proper training days we are probably ahead of where many expected at this point.

As such, I fully expect several to be sent on their way and one or two more in. Agree 100%. We now have a week to make final adjustments to the squad. AJ will now know his squad pretty well and should be well aware of where the shortcomings are. Falkirk, Stenny and Freiburg have been kind enough to help us in that regard. Some fine tuning required, not wholesale upheaval.
grizzlyg
Wasn't impressed with Seb PH tonight but no way can he judged tonight against that quality of opposition

Was he up against huge 6-9 defenders and was he given good service by those supporting him?

Vogt hiding, big man up front not in my opinion

He's definitely potentially better option than vogt..stama...hendry and probably Thor
mfc
Seb looks to be a willing runner that will put himself about which is much needed in the formation we play and something we have been missing, hopefully he can chip in with a few goals throughout the season,it's just a pity he didn't get his head up and square the ball in the first half rather than shoot. grizzlyg
I just love being a well fan and past 12 months been a joy. Spending a fair bit on signings and standards improving. Hope this is another great season

Really what are you expecting. We have done better at this point compared to last season . Oh and we have hardly played any Scottish teams yet.

STV - my post was intended to be positive - hence leading with ‘early signs are positive ‘ im optimistic - apologies that it didn’t read that way. I dont believe we yet are as strong as last season due to huge turnover , injuries and the sheer volume of games . It was never intended to say I’m not impressed , quite the opposite . Alfred has been dealt tough cards and to date been very positive.

Cool, I think the keeper is better, the defence is better, midfield still to settle, and we need a good striker ,Thor did well when he played his three games assisting and scoring it may be him, is that why we haven't signed another one yet. As season goes on we should gel even more but our young average age may catch up with us . But we seem to have created a style we are sticking with which is entertaining watch. Another interesting season I hope.
texanwellfan
On the other hand our young average age may well be our big advantage. Fearless, fit and full of running, getting better with every game and training session, as the season goes on.
grizzlyg
It's still early days but the more I listen to him and see what we are building I think we have found a real gem ( not legend status yet). Players definitely look on board and great spirit but just the wee things you notice from him ( ie. Consoling vogt last night) Loving the AJ revolution and hope this could be a special season COYW
joewarkfanclub
Alfred is basically a slightly more cuddly, less scarey Jens (with hair). We are currently 3 points better off than we were this time last season. Even if we lose to Rangers we will still be 2 points better off after 5 games. All that with having totally replaced nearly the entire team. After the Rangers game we have a 10 day break. We then play Aberdeen and Dundee and go into the international break. I suspect that come October we will be starting to see the real Alfred Johansson Motherwell side. Im pretty excited about the prospect.
weeyin
I'm usually not a fan of the break but it comes at the perfect time for us.
