Smart defending will quickly nullify that with strength, positioning and (legal) blocking if the player doesn’t also have good ball control. Seedorf had his moments for us but didn’t really have the skill to back up the pace. And as for taking players from lowly Euro qualifying opposition the two word cautionary tale is Shane Blaney 😉 I actually wonder if Shane Blaney wouldnt have been a good fit for this type of Motherwell side? Injuries aside, he always looked comfortable with the ball at his feet. It was the physicality and defending his box I always felt he struggled with. Not suggesting we go bring him back, but if SOD, McGinn and Koutroumbis can all look good at centre half in this kind of set up, Im sure others could too. robsterwood
When are they going to change that awful twist and shout song after a win. It's a dirge. Not a Beatles fan either but it's rank. Most of younger fans either don't know it or don't like it.

I don’t know if it was sang before but the first time I heard and sang it was at Ibrox after the play off game and the rage of the Rangers fans as we were singing it makes it an all time classic for me. I must admit I dont like to hear it sung half heartedly, but at the end of a game after an important win, its brilliant!

mio
Going slightly off at a tangent. The new kit looks 100 times better with the claret shorts.

Goalkeeper was in all white. They like clear differentiation.
santheman
Did anyone think the referee had a good game. Lots next to me commented that it was refreshing to see one trying to keep the game flowing and not blow for every tackle and flash yellows like they're going out of fashion like we've been used to from Collums robots. Cant remeber much about him or any major controversial decision tbh. Maybe he could have shown Havnar a couple of yellows for late tackles but other than that pretty unnoticeable in my eyes which is a nice change. So even if there were any decisions players didn't agree with, they all had to keep going. No waiting for reviews, and goals were goals and could be instantly celebrated. A pleasant change from our usual standard of officiating.

He had a good game let things flow, is that no what all refs have been instructed to do after the World Cup. Also he missed a stone wall penalty for HB I think it was Cooke, just after he came on, pulled the guys shirt as he was about to put it in infront of the goal. RCC trying to swap jerseys before the match had finished. Not sure how Ref missed it.
