Kmcalpin
I find it strange that Said was not able to obtain a visa in time for this tie (and also Moses for our tie at Fir Park). Taken on its own it doesn't seem extraordinary. However, I've never heard of this problem before now with footballers taking part in cross border ties. Its never seem to have affected bigger clubs before, or we most certainly would have heard about it. So, either its a new problem, just recently cropped up, or its not, but never been reported by the media before. Apparently visas for entry to Finland can take months. I imagine bigger clubs have the resources to ensure all (or most) possible visa issues are taken care of well in advance. Its probably more common these days because there are a huge number of teams participating in Euro competitions these days, and wide range of countries to visit. Then there are the politics that mean some countries are applying more rigour (to put it politely) to their visa and immigration processes. Brexit didn't help either, although that won't be the issue for Said, but citizens from countries such as Nigeria or India often face more hurdles. Most visa challenges can be resolved, but it's the quick turnaround for football matches that is the problem. If you need to make an appointment with someone to answer questions or discuss the application it can be too late as those can takes weeks or months to arrange. It's also probably more common in recent times because teams have players from around the globe. 30 or 40 years ago most teams had players that were home grown with only a handful at most of overseas players, and most of those players were European. Apply now for Germany just in case.
mio
Gutting to lose arguably or best performers in Williams and Said for tonight. My hope is we hold on to anything really and be at full strength next week for the return leg. rip an arm off for a draw or a narrow defeat to keep it all alive. fkn Astro!!! Shouldn’t be allowed.

If their whole team were denied visas, would we be awarded a 3-0 win by default? Because I might know someone who works in that department...

Happyhonest
Looks quite attacking but in light of all our injuries visa issues players left probably best side we have. Would love Cooke to get a goal. Am hopeful of seeing a good performance too. Cook Vogt and Tj to be interchanging with Lowry helping the midfield battle their three.
