Why don't you all give Halliday a decent pre season to get fit before talking of ripping up legal agreements?

He might turn out to be OK.

He had a decent pre season at Hearts at then hardly featured. Tougher to get in their team than ours right enough. He has been with ourselves for months and has been poor, even when fit.

I'm not saying we should rip up any legal contract. If there is one we should honour it even if it hurts us financially. I'm questioning whether that legal agreement actually exists because the term PCA has not been quoted by MFC or the media.  And if it does not, we should walk away given his four month trial with ourselves has been far from inspiring. We need players that can regularly contribute or we are likely to be in the same mess we were in at times this season. Paying good wages for little or no return.  Have we learnt anything from Obika and Souare?

I agree,  getting a bit fed up with the constant slating of him. Yes he has been poor so far but at this moment in time I would be concerned if we gave Bevis a new contract and Obika a 1yr extension

Obika is out for the whole of next season, a wee boy stood on his toes in yon big photie yesterday.

Fair dues,  suppose he would have had a pre season with hearts even if he wasn't playing...let's give him the benefit of the doubt and put it down to lack of Match practice .He might well be done but if he's here for another year , let's hope for the best.

I heard the same rumour in the POD Stand yesterday, from a Fife based source. He has a year to go on his contract

I've watched Dabrowski a few times this season and he's an excellent shot stopper but he's inconsistent at corners/crosses although looked to have improved that against Partick. I heard about that too and heard the Easton rumour again.

Is he the raith goalie?

Yeah. So I guess any potential signings from them will have to wait on the play off result. I think Easton is out of contract but I guess he might be tempted to re-sign if they beat County. Rovers have a few players who stand out in the Championship but whether they can step up a League is the gamble.

Not only that, but we'd likely be viewed in a negative light by other clubs and players, which could affect future player business.

I mean, imagine how we'd feel if he'd come in on loan under the same agreement to sign for next season and he'd been a revelation, running our midfield and looking amazing, only to get to the summer and say, "Actually, I've had a few better offers elsewhere now after my late-season showing, so I'm just gonna cancel this deal with you guys and bugger off."

It works both ways. If we've made a commitment to the player, we need to honour it.

The question is why did we commit to 18 months with a player who had barely played for a year?

Halliday seems like a sensible guy on the radio. If Kettlewell has anything about he'll sit down with him, show him his stats and explain that it's miles off what's required and he won't be a part of the first team squad next season regardless of his contract status.

Joe Lewis is a name that keeps popping up via various sources.

Apart from throwing Louis Moult's shot into the back of the net in the Cup Quarter Final, and not covering himself in glory on our second, my recollections of Joe Lewis consist primarily of commentators saying "He's not usually this prone to handling errors" on an almost weekly basis.

Presumably because SK thinks he'll get a good season out of him after putting the work in over the  summer.

I'd be surprised if that conversation happened tbh.

Maybe it won't. But if Halliday had finished the season in exactly the same way with Hearts instead of moving here, would anyone be thinking we should move for him?

If Kettlewell is happy to give him a chance, fair enough, it's his call. If it goes wrong in the same way it did with Obika, folk will start to get pissed off.

Who on P and B knows this information? Is it from journalists. I believe Graeme McGarry posts on there if I'm right and he was saying yesterday that Kelly hadnt been offered a contract.

Edited to say just read that Barry posted it on his Instagram

no great surprise he reminded me of stuart carswell in many ways and was never going to breakthrough just like Carswell, might do a job in the lower divisions

Maguire was here longer than he should have been,it would have suited both parties to go there separate ways before he got his last contract extension.i wish him nothing but the best, hopefully he finds a club where he can be playing every week,I can see him ending up somewhere like morton.

Jordan Tillson being mentioned on P & B.

Defensive midfielder.

Signed by kettlewell when he was at county. Haven't watched him much but united fans don't seem to rate him. Not sure how county fans view him.

It's only taken 2 days from season end to start slagging of players we haven't signed.

Sounds like a good time to stop reading this thread and just wait for the formal announcements from the club.
