St Midden vs Ross County is live on Sky Sports the nicht. Hopefully, our former players and coaching staff can do us a big favour.

Is it not tomorrow night in Dingwall? Don't want them getting any momentum.

For me, it's a must-win. I say this because, as much as I am a Kettlewell critic, a loss to Livingston could see the tide finally turn on him en masse. And, as we can't/won't sack him, the fans turning against the manager (and possibly the team) could see us enter a death spiral to see out the season. Furthermore, if we can't beat Livingston at this stage, it would suggest we probably don't have what it takes to win the fight to finish 10th or better anyway, so a positive result is a must for both points and confidence levels.

Yawn!

Give it a rest, pal; you don't have to read and engage with my posts. However, if you do, perhaps consider offering comments on the topic or constructive debate. The 'yawn' chat is tiresome.

I think the best we’ll get on Wednesday is a draw, we are dreadful on that Pitz carpet and losing those two goals on Sunday is a real boot in the sacs.

i don’t think a draw or even a narrow defeat will relegate us tho, I think we have enough to finish away from 11th and 12th.
I’m disappointed to hear that Paton might be out a while, I think he’s really underrated but it might be a chance to see Nicholson get more time on the park.

As for it being a sky match….. wow, what a treat for the nation.

For me this is the season defining game. If we lose I seriously fancy us for the play off spot. If we win we have an outside chance of the top six. Perfect results would be us to beat Livi, St M to beat RC (sadly) hate they Paisley tinks, St Johnstone and Aberdeen to draw or a ST J win - would love Aberdeen dragged into it cos they are seriously pish.

Butcher definitely needs to drop out but I would keep Devine in the side if possible.

Agree, Devine is a young lad so playing a couple of games in a short time shouldn’t bother him as long as he’s not got a slight injury.

Fifteen players are or have been out injured for a month or more this season alone. There is only so long that this can be classed as bad luck alone.

That’s the thing that gets me too, the length of the injuries. It’s never a wee niggle here or there that causes the player to have to go off as a precaution or keeps them out for a couple of games it’s month or more long layoffs. It could be simply down to bad luck but that would be seriously, seriously bad luck happening to several different players. That would suggest there is another issue.

It would be interesting to hear from someone inside the club as to what they think is happening here.

Are our training sessions too physical, not enough recovery time between games, pushing players carrying knocks too hard too soon or just plain bad luck.

I'd like to think that we're sophisticated enough that we wouldn't risk players carrying knocks.

I know that Kettlewell has had them in the day after games (particularly after a poor performance) so perhaps that's a factor.

Maybe our guys are so competitive that they boot f**k out of each other in bounce games.

Do we need to look at warm up routines, again that should be a given if we're a professional outfit.

Maybe it's all down to bad luck or a combination of everything.

We did. Manager offered his opinion upon questioning at AGM on the subject.

Club recognise the issue & programmes are tailored to suit, fitness, preparation, matchday & recovery as advised by their medical team. It’s just unfortunate given most are non impact injury.

Yup, was just about to post this.

He gave a good example of Wilkinson and another who I forget; both of these injuries were in the last 60 seconds of training and when they did their analysis, they reduced the times of the training sessions and altered them in terms of intensity and other activities to try and reduce the risk.

Slattery's injury was just a complete freak occurrence; his stud got caught and it twisted his leg the wrong way and "twang" he's done for 9 months.

I’d say a combination of everything but with more than our fair share of bad luck.

Or empirically sound.

Not really. A casual assumption was made by a fan, which was unlikely to be based on objective fact or specialist knowledge of our injury mitigation methods, and I jokingly described it as being an admirably optimistic assumption. Nothing more.
