At least Sparrow recently extended to 2027, so if does decide to make the move we can set our price. Would prefer to see him stay, though.

I'm also happy to see that it looks more and more likely Miller will move abroad. His Dad is certainly talking that up.

I really hope so. Either that or England. Basically not another Scottish team.

With him contracted till 2027 I can't see any Scottish clubs paying a fee unless we can tempt sellik to bid £500k which ain't happening

I was really referring to Miller but same applies to Sparrow.

It’s being reported that Matty Connelly is heading back to EK on loan, which I’m guessing means we’ve offered him a contract extension.

Seems likely.

I see the article said he was going on pre-season tour with his parent club.

Probably makes sense for him to train with us most of the week to keep him involved and he can pick up the extra sessions and game time with EK.

As 3rd choice keeper we would only need him in an emergency.

Steve Seddon signed a one-year deal with AFC Wimbledon

Good luck to him. Seemed like a decent lad.

I wonder if we were ever in talks with sylla but a 3 year deal for a guy that will be 32 this year,if there was any interest I'm glad we didn't pursue it.

Disappointed Seddons gone but we coped without him for long periods. I'm sure our new signings will come but hopefully soon . Wonder how much we got for Seddon

Nothing. He was out of contract.

Seddon was also a good co-commentator on the MFC TV stream.

Liked him as a player, but unfortunately couldn't rely on him to be fit. If the new gaffer is going to continue with high tempo, high press tactics, we need people who can cope with that level of training

Paging SOD, Halliday, McGinn, and Nicholson.

Halliday managed to play every game, so while he could never be accused of being pacey, he is fit.

Fair play to him but I believe that’s the first time in Halliday’s footballing career this has happened.  The likelihood of another injury free season at his age is slim.

I really hope we see a few players coming in very soon, and getting a proper pre-season in, otherwise we’ll be sending out the batsignal with Tony Watts face on it.

Would that then be the Twatt signal? Seems appropriate...

It would be ideal to get new players in early, but the window doesn't close until 1st September and most of the decent ones like to take their time and see what's available.

And most of the dross rises to the top nearing the end of the window,  it's always better to get your recruitment done early, more time to get them integrated into the squad.

I do not think we will see any movement in before mid July. Matches are needed to fully assess abilities of current players. He will probably only have seen videos and training with Netherlands adding to that.

Match vs Bellshill will I think be mostly academy with Wells, Ross and Whyte possibly. Carlisle ? not much more than a training stint. Clyde and Peterhead are the only really competitive matches to follow before then.

Have we enough friendlies arranged before the League Cup kicks off? We shouldn't panic  but we could start the group stage with a threadbare squad, especially up front and on the left.

Maybe some trialists in the Netherlands?

Seddon is injury prone because he was injured last season. Halliday played every game last season, but isn't fit enough because he didn't do that before 🙂

Mind-boggling, isn't it?
