I am old fashioned and want my goalie saving shots and collecting crosses. Defence in front of him definitely helped last few weeks Grizzlyg you are generally glass half full type and I get your concerns. However if for example. Oxborough who is good at crosses we would not have the same control in games as we would have a man less at back to keep the ball. Our game is all about creating an extra man somewhere and ward like all others in team are a part of that. Also he is organising defenders in front of him and very much part of us keeping clean sheets. On game last night I like most thought the subs for us slowed us down but I would argue the point that we were more in control of game than Falkirk. Still haven came away from a game this season thinking the other team were better than us. A centre forward required in January would be my choice. 2

FirParkCornerExile
I said before last night's game if we took 8/9 points from our next 4 games this could very well be a standout season. Still stand by that. That's 15 games gone an no team has been better than us in any game. As poor as we were last night we were the closest of the two to getting the win. We still had about 64% possession last night and our goalie has had 1 save in the last three games with the TEAM keeping clean sheets 3 games In a row now. So maybe shot stopping goalie not our top priority at the moment?

Typing that out just had me thinking how good Biereth could be in this team with his pace, game intelligence & eye for goal.

weeyin
3 consecutive clean sheets is a big stride forward. Will be interesting to see if JBA brings in a striker or two in the next window. The way we are playing will hopefully interest a few additional targets. I'm going for clean sheet number 4 for this game with a hard fought 2 - 0 win. I noticed Mika is struggling a bit this season. Not sure if he has been injured or something, but only 2 goals in 19 games across all competitions. Totally get JBA wants his keeper to be an extra outfield option. It is a very important feature. I am maybe just being harsh on him due to his blunders at Tynecastle, parkhead and home to killie which cost us key points. At same time agree we need a striker. Been huge defender of Stama but our system doesn't really suit him
johnstone
Marcus: Yet another two points dropped due to our inability to consistently put the ball in the back of the net. I am also not completely convinced on Jens Berthel Askou, I just do not think this preferred style is suited to scottish football and I still maintain the idea that someone like Jack Ross or Malky Mackay would have been better suited to achieve success in this league. I want to see my team try and score goals not just win the 'highest possession stats trophy'. This was a comment on the BBC - 😂😂😂 Malky Mackay 😂😂

Those two plus Hearts are the only teams to score more than us we have just achieved 3 clean sheets in a row. We at THIRD in the league. WTF is that person talking about and WTF is he doing getting paid for spouting absolute pish!! oh and I forgot to mention we have seen a significant increase in attendance at Fir Park because people are enjoying watching us play. Hardly a clanger, he was under pressure with a Celtic player closing him down, didn’t have time to control the ball and tried the short pass rather that a punt. As has been said before it’s the type of pass that is made and messed up by other players throughout a game but since it seldom leads to a goal is forgotten about and if it had came off would have taken five Celtic players out of the game - risk and reward. Trying to punt it could have led to it being charged down by the Celtic player rushing in on him leading to a goal anyway as is seen sometimes in games. So in short, yes it was a poor and unfortunate pass and percentage wise probably the wrong choice but in my view not a clanger.

We are fourth highest scorers in the league and have only failed to score in 3 of our 15 games and indeed up to Saturday it was 1 failure to score in 13. I think its more a case of converting very impressive possessions stats into a commensurate number of actual goals. As we've seen we sometimes struggle to score in games where we dominate the opposition.
