Whit, they’re eating your dinner? I know we don’t pay a lot but ffs I’d have thought it would be enough for them to feed themselves.

Very good, have you considered stepping up for the role of forum funny guy, GrizzlyG is considering retirement or if not he should..

Apparently West Ham are in the mix too

ps this is, at the very least, 4th hand news so Chinese whispers may be in play

That’s a good move for Ox. He was never going to get a sniff here again, so I’m genuinely pleased for him.

Likewise. Unfortunate for him that we changed a style that didn't suit, but he was a good fit at Dunfermline and the fans liked him too.

Did better than us in the cup, too.

Where are we seeing this confirmed?

I'm not seeing it anywhere official (or unofficial for that matter)

Ox's move to East End Park has been in the offing for some weeks now. It was certainly held up by Ward's departure to QPR and perhaps by AJ's arrival. Quite rightly we wanted to hang onto him until a replacement, Paulsen, was brought in. Leaks from the Dunfermline end not ours. Given Ox had 2 years left on his contract I would expect a tidy fee, but not earthshattering.  Dunfermline seem awash with cash.

The Record today sill reporting "Samsunspor are confident of sealing a £1.7 million move for Elliot Watt over the coming days." - so nothing official to report at this point. It's a sad day when you can't believe 12 year olds on Twitter.

(Of course he will likely be leaving us, but like most of our deals the details will not be posted on Facebook).

Fee would certainly help cover a couple of signing on fees for new guys, I'd imagine, which will help balance books a bit...

They would no doubt  have received a decent wedge of cash for getting to the Scottish cup final, in gate receipts, prize money etc

For the sake of argument lets say the Ox was on £2K per week. If the Pars bought out his contract you'd be looking at £400K. I'm not saying we got anywhere near that sum but its likely we cut our losses to reduce our wage bill, and showed Dunfermline some generosity by giving them a bargain.

Good big keeper, we’ve had so many worse than him who were our No1s. Good luck to him. Just hope Paulsen is the business.

Looking forward to see a few newbies tonight.

Dunfermline cant afford that kind of money, they lost just under £2 million in their last accounts to May 2025 and are borderline broke. I reckon it will be sub £100,000

True, but they are another club recently acquired by American owners with shares in multiple clubs and a penchant for data driven management. So they have a few more quid to spend than in previous years.

Having said that, I agree a fee of sub 100k is quite likely. Freeing up Ox's wages without having to buy out his contract is a good situation for both parties, and receiving a fee makes it a good deal.
