SFA need to get some outside help to improve our officiating (on field and VAR) the monthly VAR review should be renamed what it actually is

“It’s only an excuse”

pretty damning reflection on our standard of officials when we have zero representation at the World Cup. 😳

if we have already Solicited help from another country then we are Fkd.

just to add that I am trying to be objective in my views, I still don’t know how Hearts didnt get a penalty for Longelo’s “arm” ball in our box.

I see the fan group, that owns Hearts, has issued a statement about refereeing standards. The Society should do the same.

Every club needs to take every opportunity to call out this nonsense Dave as and when it happens, sitting back and complaining about Var, poor referees, perceived bias etc, etc but doing nothing about it, will change nothing.

The SFA sre shit scared to upset either of the ugly sisters, as are the Scottish football media so change wont happen overnight, but it has to start somewhere.

Hung off from posting last night as I was way too angry about what transpired at the end of the game.

Regardless of our thoughts on the matter, it doesnt really change anything.

Hibs last minute winner means we need to go to Easter Road and get something. Given we have won 1 and drawn 2 against them this season and now have an injustice to fire the belly, we should embrace that situation.

Re last nights game. I really despair about any Motherwell fan who watched that last night and is anything other than proud of our performance.

Many Motherwell teams in the past have utterly capitulated to Celtic. But we went toe to toe with them for 90 minutes and were the better team by every metric, other than the one that actually counts.

It was a great performance and, but for a bit more quality/composure in the final third, we might have won that game.

There is a real feel good factor about Fir Park right now. Three stands up singing and bouncing in a game against one of the ugly sisters is a rare thing indeed.

Finally, to address the issue of our record against the top 6. It is true that we have only won 3 out of 19. But we have also drawn 8. So in 11/19 games the top 6 couldnt beat us either and of the games we did lose only Hearts beat us by more than 1 goal and our performances have been more than decent.

We should embrace these times and use the injustice we all feel about the season as a whole to fuel us going forward.

Everyone to Easter Road......

Absolutely agree with everything you said.

And it looks like everyone's going: 2 seats remaining.

Edit: Sold out now.

Still f**king beeling after last night. I've usually calmed down the day after a bad decision, but not this time. Strange since it doesnt affect what we need to do on saturday, but ruins what would have been a fantastic night for us and scottish football in general.

I've never been one for accusing scottish officials of corruption. Bias, incompetence and social pressure influencing decisions in favour of the bigger teams, yes. But not corruption.

Last nights VAR decision, there is no defence. Corruption, clear as day for all to see (except those clowns who choose not to).

Its strange that after the pitch invasion by Celtic fans and their celebation with their club's employees, that no party has been moved to comment. Not MFC, not the Society, not the SPFL or SFA, not the Police and not Celtic FC.  All being swept under the carpet?

Its a sad reflection of events that almost all the widespread discussion has been about matters other than the football.

Lead story on the STV news, the "penalty" desicion from last night, worlwide condemnation, ridicule, worst var judgement ever etc. There was a token celtic fan who said it was a stonewalller, oh and o'Neil says he could not see it clearly.. Twitter full of fake AI images to confirm it was a pen, no doubt Collum will use them in the VAR review.

My guess is the VAR review show will be cancelled.

If Collum says it wasn't a penalty, then he's admitting a terrible decision has impacted the title race, and if he says it was a penalty, he makes himself and the SFA a corrupt looking laughing stock.

Every VAR review ive watched there is at least one descision that Gollum admits was wrong, pen/ no pen, red card/ yellow card etc. So they freely admit they get it wrong, but take no responsibility for their actions, and the is no sign of any changes or improvement.

The silver lining from last nights crazy decision is the amount of pundits from England  and beyond that I've heard talking about how great a footballing team Motherwell are.

I know there's been lots of plaudits within Scotland but I can't help but feel another level of pride when it's far reaching.  A real credit to Jens everyone at the club.

Additionally now there's broader questions being asked about OF favouritism - that's not something we could have ever generated had it not been for the impact this has on the final game.

Finally come Saturday and I appreciate this will benefit Hearts but I can't realistically see any dodgy decisions being given in favour of Celtic - simply too much scrutiny.

Dont expect the well society to comment about the Celtic support when one of their top men is very friendly with the green brigade.

I never watch it tbh, but I'd be surprised if he admits any wrong decisions awarded in favour of the OF that wins them games.

Not a suprising reaction today in the scottish media about the penalty. Those of a celtic leaning and bitter Hibby fans think it was a penalty. Everyone else saying its a joke.

The against arguement has been hijacked by Rangers fans. Hypocrites! Those two clubs have colluded to bring us to this decay in our game.

We also have the media stirring the pot to try and create even more content in their pursuit of attention for themselves.

Meanwhile nothing is being said from the authorities.

Year on year Scottish footballs standards on the whole spiralls downwards and without proper leadership and accountability our game will remain in the gutter.

The cycle could have been broken this year but those in charge dont obviously like change.

Scotlands shame continues.

Rather a good summary of this shameful episode.

There are oft-repeated claims that Beaton was targeted by some Celtic fans after negative comments by Brendan Rogers on his decisions, and that his house was damaged and both he and his wife were threatened. If that is the case, why is he given Celtic games to referee?

Celtic fans have flooded social media with derisive whitabootery to deflect from the shitstorm while most other commentators have expressed disbelief, including many furth of Scotland with no dogs in the race, like the normally dismissive English commentators on Talk Sport, some of whom have spoken glowingly of Motherwell's football, e.g.  Agbonlahor.

My prediction is that the SFA will circle the wagons as usual and jive-talk their way round the controversy until the season ends and that Hearts will avoid defeat on Saturday while we smite the Leithers mightily.

Oh, and JBA will get out of Scotland ASAP. He surely must realise the toxicity of the whole OF thing.

Very proud to be a 'Well fan.

I heard Chris Sutton today defend the decision by saying that John Beaton made a subjective decision that it was a hand ball and that is enough.

The point of VAR is that the subjectivity is removed and the referee makes an objective decision based on overwhelming evidence.

It is crazy that Sutton will be getting paid a small fortune to analyse the game and he can't grasp this. John Beatons subjective decision was no penalty in real time. The objective, beyond reasonable doubt decision was then to actually give the penalty.

This is even more crazy when the camera angle used as evidence looks like it has been taken from the CCTV cameras at the Civic.

That will be ex celtic Chris Sutton!.   Fair play to Darren O'Dea as he thought it was poor
