What was the style of play like? Similar to last year or very different?

Similar in style, but nowhere near as cohesive at this point. Struggling to really impact in the final third. It will improve though.

It should be another interesting season.

I think ive now watched that 2nd goal about 20 times, what an absolute classic. Even the celebration of him running to the bench with the Well fans in the background…. Epic!! Fast becoming one of my favourite Well players of the past 30 years…. Love the wee loonball!!
I did not expect that at all today, would have been delighted with a point.

absolutely brilliant… delighted for the fans, players and manager… on to Helsinki

Bit of a mixed bag today.

Lots of good stuff, but lots.of mistakes as well, which is to be expected bedding in so many new players.

Thought we were comfortable first half, without being exceptional, but produced the only piece of real quality of the half to win the penalty.

Second half Hibs pressed much higher and forced us into a lot more mistakes, which is a slight concern and an area we will need to improve.

Williams really sells Oscar for the penalty, not much Oscar can do but take the yellow.

We did have to dig deep after that, but was quite a pleasing aspect to see that we have that capability if required.

The second goal is a thing of beauty. Potentially team goal of the season already. So pleased for Said. He has such an infectious personality that makes you just desperate for him to do well.

Overall, a fantastic 3 points and just the result needed to keep confidence high going into a huge game on Thursday.

Everyone to Helsinki! 🧡❤️🧡

To me, the issue we had today was connected to the loss of Just and Slattery. The back four plus Oscar and Faddy had the ball a lot. We were very good at getting the ball forward from there. Today we weren't  lot of the time which led to the continual turning back into a tighter and tighter area. We need more (and more intelligent) movement from the forward midfielders to play through the way we did before. Still a fantastic result and absolutely worth the period of worry for that second goal 🤣

Still a bit in disbelief how we won that.

The minute Hibs scored we lost our way. Hibs had the freedom of the wings and we won very few second balls. That said we employ defenders and a goalkeeper to keep the opposition out and they did just that. Outstanding backs to the wall defensive display. A good team wins ugly and that's what we did and to do so with 8 debuts in the SPFL at a difficult venue is an outstanding start to the season.

Terrific away support again today. Good to see Simon Ramsden in amongst the fans enjoying the win.

You never know what to expect from the opening game at the best of times but giving the changes were have had to endure, that really is a great 3 points.all the signings seen to be settling in nicely with moorman in particular looking like he could be a real find.i still think we need to sign a midfielder and a striker that will be brought in as first choice picks, which is easier said than done but with the money thats been brought in should hopefully give us a fighting chance to make that happen and get one or two back from injury and theres no reason why we can't keep the feel good factor going this season.

I think what Ive noticed so far is that there are less options available to the player on the ball this season.

Last year our movement ahead of the ball was fantastic and there were always 3 or 4 options on for a pass, which made it really difficult for teams to press us.

This season the movement is less with maybe 1 or 2 options. First half Hibs sat off us a little so that was fine. But second half when they pressed high, it put us under so much extra pressure.

Whether it just unfamiliarity at present due to squad turnover or, we just need to run harder as a team, Im not sure, but either way, it will need to improve. Especially against the better teams.

I think we all need to remember we have lost 5 first team starters and an immense manager and 7 out injured. We have brought replacements in and a manager who i am really warming to and could be a great appointment.  It takes time for new players to gel so to win both euro ties and win at easter road is immense
